Missing court for a traffic ticket is usually not as big a problem as you might think. Many courts will simply reschedule your court date if it is your first appearance. If you have missed court several times on the same ticket, you should probably call a traffic attorney to make sure you don't have a warrant or hold on your license. However, if it is just the first appearance that you missed, you can either call a traffic attorney to help you or call the court to see if they have given you a new date.
Are You Sure You Wouldn't Rather Get That Ticket Fixed?
There are many good reasons to get a traffic ticket fixed. Call Beerup Law at 636-940-1111 if you want to keep your insurance rates low or keep points off your record. There is no harm in calling, and we can confirm there are no issues with your missed court date. If you decide to take care of things on your own, you will still be better informed.
What If the Court Issued a Warrant or Hold?
We can fix that. Most courts will recall a warrant at a lawyer's request within a week or so. A hold does not mean that your license is suspended, just that you will be unable to renew it when it expires, and a lawyer can take care of that, too. Getting a hold released does not always go smoothly and might require multiple calls to the Department of Revenue or the court, and it is perfectly understandable if you would like an attorney to take care of that for you.
Missing a court date is not recommended and can be stressful, but it is easily correctable. Call Beerup Law at 636-940-1111 to review your case and discuss your options.
