The client was charged with statutory rape after allegedly having intercourse with an underage neighbor. This was a class B felony with up to 15 years in prison possible. Ruth was able to point out inconsistencies in the alleged victims' testimony in a deposition and show that what occurred did not meet the elements of the crime charged. The rape charge was dismissed and other peripheral charges were plead with time served.
